Centre JEAN PERRIN—the regional anti-cancer research centre—is one of a network of 20 regional anti-cancer research centres across France, each of which is government-funded as a qualified public-interest private-run non-for-profit healthcare facility (‘ESPIC’). They were set up back in 1923 by the pioneer Claudius Regaud whose stated philosophy was that "every institution dedicated to delivering therapy for malignant tumours needs to be comprehensively readied to treat any disease, which means by whatever method is deemed the best in that particular case-setting".
This philosophy has been extended today via the multidisciplinary strategy implemented every day at the Centre JEAN PERRIN—where a single centre houses all the facilities needed for disease diagnosis and the subsequent therapeutic pathways, medical imaging, biology and anatomical pathology and pathobiology, surgery, radiotherapy, drug therapy, supportive care, palliative care.
